There’s so much to be grateful for. Everywhere you look, the Universe placed little gifts for you and I. Actively seeing all the things we should be grateful can be hard. As we get older and get caught up in the day to day, our minds seem to either be in 2 modes – worrying about the future, or feeling depressed about the past. Where does that leave time for us to fully embrace and appreciate the now? Getting out of that cycle and creating a grateful mindset takes practice. When we actively practice gratitude, we improve our lives almost instantaneously.
I haven’t always been filled with gratitude..
I used to be someone that found myself with a lack mindset. Life seemed to be unfulfilling, and I was craving something else. My mind was polluted with so much stress and worries. My life definitely reflected it, with chaos seeming to always arise. There definitely couldn’t be anything I could be grateful for, right? I mean… life sucked!
No matter how you perceive your life to be going, there’s always something to be grateful for. Society has pushed us into being such competitive beings. We look at others and feel jealousy, and only feel we have permission to celebrate and be grateful for major achievements and successes. That’s such a sad way to live. The fact that we are alive, experiencing this world is enough to celebrate. Every moment we wake up and get to conquer a new day is something to be grateful for.
What is there to be grateful for?
The short answer is – everything. All you have to do is change the lenses you’re looking at your life with. Right now I am sitting in bed with my boyfriend as I type this, watching Live PD. I am so grateful to be alive right now, using a working computer, and with someone I love. It’s that easy. It doesn’t have to always be a major event where we feel grateful for life. In life’s hardest moments, the Universe has hidden love and happiness around us. It can be hard to see each thing in the moment, and that’s where an active practice comes in handy!
Lets start now!
When we actively practice gratitude in our daily lives, it’s hard to fall into that lack mindset we commonly share. Doing so is actually so easy! The easiest way to begin cultivating a grateful mindset is journaling. Force yourself each night to write a list of 5 things you were grateful for that happened today. It doesn’t have to be anything complex, so don’t stress! Something as simple as someone holding the door for you is something you should be grateful for. If you need a little help, I got you covered/
I created a free workbook to help you practice gratitude all month long! The #31DaysOfGratitude workbook includes 31 different open ended writing prompts to help you find all the beauty hidden in around you. All you have to do is send me your email so I can send it straight to you!
You’ll see your quality of life improve.
The effects of this mindset shift are seen in almost every aspect of our lives! When we’refocused in all the good things we have, it’s hard to stress over what we do not. We feel happier, and more confident pursuing new things. Stress levels decrease and we feel less self-centered. Who wouldn’t want that? I can’t wait for you to be experiencing that and more after reading this.
