While on the hunt for different Christmas and festive things to this winter, I happened to find a little gem right in my own town! The Kris Kringle Market in Southern Maryland filled me with nothing but Christmas joy.
This Christmas-themed marketplace and community event has been happening for the past 6 years, with different events and vendors spread throughout an entire weekend. Admission is only $1 OR a donation of a nonperishable food item to benefit the Southern Maryland Food Bank! That’s such an amazing way to give back while creating memories with ones you love. I highly recommend donating to the Southern Maryland Food Bank or your local food bank not only holiday season, but year round!
Walking in was like walking into a Lifetime Christmas special. The fairgrounds somehow became the North Pole, with each building like a little cottage and beautiful lights everywhere your eye hit. My only regret was not taking a million photos while here!
I loved walking into each building and seeing all the beautiful handmade items and crafts vendors were selling. There was a vendor for everyone and every interest! From bath bombs & beard balm to homemade honey and wood art – this is a one stop shop for Christmas.
I was shocked seeing such a huge variety of crystals and pendants for sale! My boyfriend Dominic loves wrapped crystals and other pendants, so this was definitely a kid in a candyshop type moment. If you’re looking to find unique gifts for those you love, you’ll find it here.
If you’re not in the mood to shop but still want to get in the Christmas spirit, no worries! The Kris Kringle market features a live nativity scene (with live animals!), live music performances, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and an amazing firework show!
I’m so glad to have found this and can’t wait to return next year! I think next time around I’ll go all 3 days, and definitely take more photos. Does your town have a Christmas town or cute festive traditions? I’d love to read about them in the comments below.
